Directional Drilling

Directional and horizontal drilling are the methods used to increase production and hit targets that cannot be reached with a vertical well. Most wells drilled for water, oil, natural gas, information, or other subsurface objectives are vertical wells drilled straight down into the earth. When directional drilling is combined with hydraulic fracturing, some rock units which were unproductive when drilled vertically can become fantastic producers of oil or natural gas. Directional and horizontal drilling have been used to reach targets beneath adjacent lands, reduce the footprint of gas field development, increase the length of the pay zone in a well, deliberately intersect fractures, construct relief wells, and install utility service beneath lands where excavation is impossible or extremely expensive. Perhaps the most important role that horizontal drilling has played is in the development of the natural gas shale plays.

Down Hole Motors

Whereas down hole motor as one of the fundamental components in directional BHA have significant role on drilling progress, trajectory steering, hole geometry quality and prevention of any relative down hole probable incidents, A&H Company always care to use reliable PDM motors. our motors sizes from 3 1/8” to 9 5/8” from various trustable brands like DynomaX in the diverse types & configuration such as wide range of working and stall torque & speed range, seal and ML bearing assembly, various size of sleeve stabilizers both straight and spiral blades and also Hard faced rotors coating, ERT Elastomer and short bearing as optional types in order to be enable for operating in various down hole condition, operations & well plan demands & all the formation types, soft to abrasive, carbonate to sticky, inflation, loose, unconsolidated, etc. that engineered with considering all the required technique indexes and efficient materials based on max performance, increase durability & desirable borehole quality and geometry.

Our Specific motor types

  • Hard faced rotor chrome coating: Its most useful applicant within heavy mud weight types where high amount of the chloride of mud could fatal damage the chrome coating so that reduce motor efficiency
  • ERT Power-section: Its stator elastomer featured minimum friction factor thru rotor displacement how motor power consequently working torque and DP is up to twice that of conventional power sections and also permits the use of shorter motors without compromising ROP
  • Short Bearing assembly: Minus thrust bearing with less ball races of motor caused shorter distance between bit to bend which is designed for short radius well types where is need maximum build up rate of motor in slide drilling mode
  • Over size 2X-Fit: Clearance between rotor and stator is called fit, over size fit is appropriate within OBM or HTHP BTH where stator rubber in standard fit size is easily swelled and cause the motor stall.

Hydro-mechanical drilling Jars & Stabilizers

Specific Down hole tools

VGS; Variable Gauge Stabilizers

In this new type of stabilizers has be embedded some pistons on the fixed blades that are operated and controlled by the flow rate thus we will have two or three different sizes for the stabilizer gauge as drilling demand purpose to guide the well trajectory inclination by controlling the BHA tendency in rotation drilling mode by changing the size of the stabilizer in beside of drilling parameters adjustment

Also, the other type operates mechanically and opens and closes by placing a certain amount of weight, which creates a certain pressure difference in two different sizes to determine what is the current size.

Motor RNBS; Turbo back

Actually it is a kind of short stabilizer that is put between the bit and the motor drive-shaft bit box therefore is rotate by the motor drive-shaft subsequently motive enhancement of the bore bottom hole quality and smoother hole condition totally, however this tools is order for special jobs that’s why it would be cause further re-active torque for the motor and also increasing the stress on the motor body and cause less motor build up rate output although we will provide appropriate motor in these cases.

PBL-Sub

If directional BHA, its mean motor and M/LWD in hole also bit nozzles obviously will limit for pumping or spud LCM pill in the event that mud heavy loss occurred, in order to remove these restrictions of the volume, type and size of LCMs, this tools is recommended. It is used in such a way has a dump valve which is operated by dropping special balls or darts into the string after pumping and sitting the ball in its places, dump valve be bypassed to annulus and after pumping the desired amount of LCM, we close the dump valve again in the same way. it has a tank capacity of 3 to 5 times allows this process. The PBL-sub is put above the M/LWD assembly.
